About Us

A Passion for colour

I am Margaret de Bree and as a Johannesburg based Artist and Urban Sketcher, I started on this paint making adventure intending to make a range of colours for myself. It captivated and fascinated me to a point that I needed to try out every colour I could get my hands on. I knew the colours I needed and wanted, and I set about creating them.

As a professional Artist I only work with Artist quality watercolours and the process of making my own range of paint has been so rewarding. I am at peace with the world when creating colours for you to enjoy.

Yes our handcrafted watercolours are made in small batches with the finest imported pigments.

Our watercolours are formulated using only high-quality, natural ingredients like pigment, gum arabic (a tree sap binder), distilled water, vegetable-derived glycerin (for smoothness), and clove oil (a natural preservative).

Simply add a drop of water to the pan and let it sit for a few seconds to activate the vibrant pigments. Once softened, dip your wet brush and unleash your creativity.

Watercolour half pans offer a convenient and portable way to explore watercolours. Each pan holds dry, concentrated pigment that activates with water, making them perfect for creating on the go or maximizing space in your art kit.

For optimal results, use our watercolours on high-quality watercolour paper. This specially treated paper is absorbent and stable, allowing for vibrant washes without warping or buckling.

Our watercolours may show slight bubbles, cracks, or stickiness. These are normal and won’t affect quality. Some colours might feel sticky at first but improve with use. Add a drop of glycerin if the paint crumbles.
